Non-discrimination policy 

Kie To Care, provides all services and referrals relative to patient care and employment actions to any eligible and qualified individual regardless of race, sex, color, national origin, ancestry, religious creed, sexual orientation, or gender identity, handicap or age. Kie To Care does not exclude, deny benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against any person on the ground of race, color, or national origin, sexual identity or gender identity, or on the basis of disability or age in admission to, participation in, or receipt of the services and benefits under any of its programs and activities, whether carried out by Kie To Care . directly or through a contractor or any other entity with which Kie To Care arranges to carry out its programs and activities.

Patient care will be provided in a manner that does not discriminate against persons regardless of race, sex, color, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious creed, handicap or age.

Staff, whether employees or contractors, will be hired regardless of race, sex, color, national origin,sexuak orientation, gender identity, ancestry, religious creed, handicap or age.

Reasonable accommodation will be provided for any handicapped employees.

Staff will be assigned to patient cases regardless of race, sex, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, ancestry, religious creed, handicap or age.

All possible issues of discrimination should be reported immediately to the Administrator/CEO.

All consumers and staff/contractors are made aware that complaints of potential discriminatory behavior may be filed with the Office of Equal Opportunity, Pennsylvania Department of Health, and/or the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission

The non-discrimination policies of the agency apply to all consumers/families served. Kie To Care does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or age in admission, treatment, or participation in its program, services and activities or in employment.

This policy is in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, and Regulations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued pursuant to these statutes at Title 45 Code of Federal Regulations Parts 80, 84, and 91; and other agency guidelines.

HIPAA POLICY

Kie To Care is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of Protected Health Information (PHI) in all aspects of its operations. All representatives of Kie To Care are required to handle PHI responsibly, adhering to strict guidelines to safeguard the information in accordance with federal and state laws.

Key Provisions:
1. HIPAA Training and Acknowledgement

- All employees will undergo HIPAA training upon hire and annually thereafter.

- Employees must sign a HIPAA disclosure form at the time of hire to affirm their commitment to safeguarding PHI.

2. Record Management
- Consumer and employee records will be securely stored within Kie To Care’s EVV system. - Personnel records and disclosures of PHI will be retained for six years as mandated by

federal law or longer if required by state regulations.
- Records exceeding the maximum retention period will be destroyed in a manner that

ensures data security.

3. Confidentiality Standards
- Employees are prohibited from disclosing confidential information without management

approval.

4. Releases and Transmission of Information
- Consumers must complete a release of information form to authorize sharing their data with

involved parties.
- Confidential information must be properly marked and secured during transmission, with full

names omitted from email or text communications.

5. Access Control
- PHI will only be disclosed to individuals with a legitimate need to know the information. - Confidential data must not be displayed in areas where it can be easily observed.

6. Loss or Breach of PHI
- Any loss or compromise of PHI must be immediately reported to management.

7. Storage and Disposal
- PHI must be stored in locked cabinets or containers when not in use.

- PHI must be disposed of securely to prevent unauthorized access.

8. Handling of PHI Upon Termination
- Employees are prohibited from removing PHI from Kie To Care’s offices without specific

authorization.
- Departing employees must return all confidential or sensitive information and PHI to

management.

By following this policy, Kie To Care ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations and protects the privacy of its consumers and employees.
